Michael Parker - Workshop Day - Painting in Oils using a palette knife

  • Anne Rose Hall, Greyfriars Community Centre Ringwood BH24 1DW (map)

In todays workshop we welcome Michael Parker and tutoring in the art of palette knife painting.

Michael has been painting all his life and rarely uses brushes. He specialises in expressionistic and figurative styles with a semi-abstract approach, often depicting leisure and sporting pastimes – fishing, sailing, walking, dancing, landscapes, seascapes, birds, dogs and people.

 Workshop attendees will need…

1 a 500x400  (16”x20”) minimum size canvas

2 Paints , oil or acrylic, as many colours as possible. Especially some veridian green,

3 palette knives, The Range sell a cheap set , ( less than a fiver) that would be perfectly adequate, but certainly they need one as large as possible.

4 A kitchen roll and cloths.

5 a palette or board for mixing paint.
