Mudeford Arts Festival 2025

It’s a very popular festival. It’s been running for many years on the Mudeford Green just behind the Quay. Its aim is to showcase local art, craft and music. It was teeming with activity. There was a performance area featuring singers and dancers - an eclectic selection, including hearty sea shanties and twirling belly-dancers. There were lots of stalls selling everything from original art and prints to home made fudge, jewellery, ceramics and felted sculptures. It’s a really good event to shop for birthday presents!

The arts festival also aims to promote local art societies, so we were in the tent with lacemaking, pyrography, wood turning and modelling. We spent the days chatting with the vistors (over 1000 passed through the tent on the Saturday!) and publicising RAS and the Summer Exhibition, We had lots of lovely conversations and even encountered a future artist with his very first oil painting. (Yes, he and his dad were very happy for us to feature his photo here).

We also had the pleasure of seeing RAS member Cathy Collins voted the winner of the Stanpit Best Painting Competition. Congratulations!
