Martin gave a quick recap of his demo, banned the use of pencils so that we could work in a loose, flowing manner and told us he expected three pieces from all of us.
He gave a detailed guide to oil paints and mediums for those new to oil painting and invited all of us to help ourselves from the comprehensive stock of supplies he had provided for us.
Then he set to work, spending time with each artist, offering gentle encouragement, problem solving advice and suggestions. There was a happy buzz of activity. As a result most of us did indeed achieve multiple paintings - and very pleasing they were!
And finally:
Martin will return to work with us next year - his focus will be on clouds.
